What does it mean to dream about your hair falling out?
Artemidorus, the Golden Wheel and Miller each read hair as standing, and losing it as losing ground. The Golden Wheel Dream-Book (1862) was the bleakest: if you dream "that your hair has fallen off, or that it has become extremely thin, it is a bad omen," and it tied that omen to sickness, while thick, bushy hair in the same entry meant growing rich or powerful. That is a record of what frightened people in 1862, not a statement about anyone's health.
Miller's 1901 dream dictionary (Ten Thousand Dreams Interpreted) addressed the dream mainly to women: "For a woman to dream that her hair is falling out, and baldness is apparent, she will have to earn her own livelihood," fortune having passed her by.
